Iāve talked to the surgeon and sent videos of his breathing and nose and he doesnāt see anything concerning. Heās not bringing up anything anymore but gaga will still happen .
Yah heās a still gagging like he was before the surgery and a little bit of regurgitation ,mostly water, but I think thatās to be expected for a little bit after surgery . hopefully in a month or so this problem will be resolved and it wonāt be a different issue causing it
Heās doing really well now , today he seems a lot more like himself and like heās turned a corner . Iāve tried the wet cloth but heās incredibly fussy with things touching his face unless itās just my fingers .. and even then heās not great. His nostrils seem a lot more open today and less...
So we are 72 hours post op and overall heās doing well but today he does have some crusting inside his nostrils. I think heās also having a difficult time finding comfortable positions as Iām sure that the soft palate is sore , seems like after eating /drinking or liquid meds is when itās most...
Thanks for the info! Yes we had a rough night, ended up in emerg twice and he ended up having to stay overnight for a day due to possible aspiration pneumonia . Heās home now and doing better but itās been a wild 48 hours. Breathing is less gurgley but still loud but I know that will improve...
Well good news, Louie did great during surgery and is home and recovering ! Breathing is a bit gurgle but I would assume thatās to be expected. They ended up doing his nares, laryngeal succles and soft palette , the surgeon said he had an exceptionally long soft palate for a dog his age. Iām so...
Ok thatās great to hear! Yah barking wonāt be an issue , Iām sure heāll want to play but hopefully the drugs will help keep him nice and calm until heās recovered. Well keep everyone posted, he goes in tomorrow š«£š«£
Louieās not a big barker , so we should be ok there main thing is he wonāt be able to chew his bone . How was the recovery time? What were they allowed to do and not to do?
Thank you for sending along your prayers for my boy.. I know itās for his best interest , we just want him to live his most comfortable and healthy life. Iāll be having stress diarrhea until itās all completed that being said š when you had your dogs done did they have to do the nares, soft...
Hey all,
So we had our appointment with the surgeon today and from what he can tell on exam he does feel the bulbous area under Louieās chin could just be his tongue being thick for hisnstructure . That being said, after his evaluation he does feel he would greatly benefit from the BOAS surgery...
Ya moved up my specialist appointment to Monday so hopefully they can give me some insight into what it could be, along with the BOAS assessment . Fingers crossed!
See that was my feelings on it too, my vet doesnāt think itās a swollen salivary gland but Iām not convinced . I have my specialist appointment on May 20th so I hope to get more insight . No swelling anywhere else thank goodness .
Hey guys,
Does this area under my frenchies jaw area look normal for the breed or unusual? Itās soft and somewhat squishy when I touch it. My vet seems to think he has a large tongue with could be causing the lump there but he doesnt have a difficult time closing his mouth or keeping his...
