My girl is 3 years old and was spayed at around 1.5 years old. About 4 months ago, she had a bad UTI with struvite crystals, which have since cleared up, but she has been experiencing mild urinary incontinence ever since.
Some mornings, I notice a small wet spot on her bed, and occasionally, when she’s on the couch with us, we see small spots on the couch cover. At times, the area around her vulva appears moist, and it seems to happen mostly when she’s relaxed.
Recently, she has also started peeing while walking outside, though she still squats to pee most of the time. The vet mentioned that medication could help strengthen her urinary muscles, but I’m wondering if anyone has experience with these treatments.
Has your dog been on any of these medications? Are they effective and worth trying? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
