Something is going on with Freya. We thought UTI so we took her to Urgent Care Sunday. She was drooling very bad and squatting alot in the yard. They couldn't get pee but gave us meds. Did a fecal came back negative 😀 took her to Silverthorn yesterday. They did urine, blood, physical. Had a loose tooth pulled it. Everything else was perfect. No detection of UTI. She is still drooling so bad, drinking a ton of water, doesn't want to pee all the time. She still has her bouts of play but not like Freya. I'm going to schedule her for an ultrasound hopefully today. Have you ever had an issue like this with any dog and might know of something else we could look at? Hers my baaaby!!

How did you make out with the ultrasound?
Hi, we haven't done the ultrasound. They gave us some medicine to help her poop better. They said the x-ray showed alot of gas and/or food. Although she pooped 3-4 times day. Now she does poop and extra log. She had a loose baby tooth They pulled, however the drooling didn't stop. They also gave gabapentin. I gave it to her two nights in a row and she slept all night. Now she acts like nothing happened. My sister says she did that because we had gone on vacation. HOWEVER, I did change her food. I took her off Hills Science. I got her the Lamd Purina Pro and Merrick wet food. The Merrick is grain free but no chicken. Both of the Vets did say it could be the food. She had been on Hills Science for a week. She is doing amazing now. Clueless.

Hi, so glad Freya is feeling better! Some dogs drool if they are in pain, maybe what caused Freya’s drooling if it stopped after her other symptoms resolved. Bladder stones can cause these symptoms, however would likely ( not 100% but close) have blood or something in her urine that would be picked up on urinalysis if she had stone(s). Ultrasound is key for diagnosis as not all stones show up on X-ray images. They would also be able to see if there was inflammation of the bladder wall, and if Freya was able to empty her bladder well.
Constipation or large hard stools can cause bladder irritation/spasm and urinary symptoms including urinary frequency and straining, as the colon is right next to the bladder. If her symptoms resolved after she pooped and now is herself again, may have been the cause. I agree with you that this is not a behavioral issue (vacation)! Kudos to you for having her so thoroughly evaluated! Hope Freya stays well and happy!!!

Just had to rush her to Urgent Vet again yesterday 😞 Giardia. Poor girl has so many issues as a puppy. Vet said she could have these clinical systems off and on for about a year. She said it is almost impossible to cure. I'll do whatever I can for her. I'm glad I got her insurance. Hopefully they will help with some of the bills. Thank you for your reply. The more information I can get it much appreciate.
