Hi there! I have an 8-month-old Frenchie name Blue. She's my first dog and I got her when she was 2 months old. I have so many behavioral questions and concerns.

1. Aggressive During Feeding - She goes crazy when we feed her. She growls, barks and foams at the mouth if anyone comes near her dog bowl and growls in her bowl while she eats. She also tries to bite anyone that touches her while she's eating. How can I get her to stop doing this? How do I punish her for biting?

2. Attacks Other Dogs - When Blue sees or is around other dogs she goes into attack mode. When other dogs come near her she crouches down, waits for the dog to come closer and then starts barking. We've taken her to puppy classes when she was 4 months and she was fine. Should I take her to more dog parks and puppy socials? Is this normal? How do I get her to play with other dogs?

3. Agressive with People - This only started happening in the last 2 months. She'll let someone pet her and be completely sweet. Then when the stranger gets too comfortable around her, she'll start barking like an attack dog. It's really embarrassing in public settings. Should I bring her out more to get use to people? Is she picking up on my worried energy when other people are around? What should I do.

4. Won't Pee Outside - She just started pooping outside recently. But, she never pees outside! We'll get back from a 30 min walk then runs to the pee pad and pees. Should I start moving the pee pad outside?

She's not spayed yet. I've been thinking that might help her behaviorial issues.

I'd appreciate any and all helpful tips and suggestions!

It sounds like Blue has some severe anxiety issues. How long have each of these things been going on? Since you picked her up from the breeder? After puppy vaccines? Are there any other issues (symptoms) that she's having, even ones that don't seem related?

As far as the peeing thing goes, yes, I would move her pee pad outside. Plus, lots of praise when she pees on the pad outside. Maybe you could quickly make the pad smaller and smaller until she's comfortable knowing that's where she is supposed to go and you can remove it.

Edit: I wouldn't spay in an attempt to resolve the agression. That's just going to basically throw her into instant menopause. I don't think she needs that added strain on her body right now.

It can be confusing for dogs if you have pee pads in the house, but want them to go outside. I would move the pads a little closer to the door every day or few days until they are outside. She is a teenager so she may start to act out. I would be firm but consistent. Basic obedience training will help establish you as a leader, and help her to be more confident.

She is owning you and you have to get a trainer in to help get her balanced. as someone else mentioned, start using 'nothing in life is free' all humans in home must follow an hire a behaviorist to come to your hme to help you.

She is showing signs of resource guarding which can be very difficult to correct

Good luck and PLEASE keep us posted
