Does anyone here use pure raw honey for allergies or antibiotic type properties for your Frenchie?

I did for a little while but didn't notice a difference with Jax's allergies plus honey has sugar which I am now avoiding as much as possible.

To be on the safe side I wouldn't give pasteurized or unpasteurized honey to a young puppy, since the botulinum spores are harmful to young puppies with immature immune systems. I'm not sure the exact date when it would be safe to give honey to a dog. Local unpasteurized honey is the best honey to give a dog for environmental allergies, since the pollen in the honey will desensitize your dog to the allergens. The best honey for sickness is Manuka honey with a high UMF factor of 15 or higher. That's great to rub on sores on the skin or to give orally to a dog with kennel cough.

Thanks for the info. I was talking w/someone who does this and was curious as to what others thought. I try too keep Reese away from grains and sugars but was curious as to the benefits of honey. I on the other hand do add ACV on certain days of the week to her water as a preventative.

If your dog doesn't have yeast issues, it wouldn't hurt to give her a teaspoon of raw unpasteurized local honey every day. You would have to give it throughout the spring and summer and until the first frost for the rest of her life, it's not curative.

I have never tried it, so curious who your Frenchie will do on it.
