Whenever I give Carrot a chew toy like a Benebone or plastic keys, etc., she LOVES them but will only chew on one area until the plastic is so sharp, it cuts her gums. I have to take it away because I notice blood on the toy. I've tried to get her to start chewing on the other parts, but she has zero interest. I also recently tried butting bitter apple spray on the area to discourage her to move on to a smooth bit, but then she ignored it altogether and gave me the stink eye!
Is this a frenchie thing?

Those plastic bones can tend to get sharp and make them bleed. We have switched to all rubber toys because of Jake's slab fracture to his tooth which lead to an extraction. He is a pretty aggressive chewer and so Benebone, antlers and Nylabones all went in the trash. Jake really likes West Paw Zogoflex and it seems to be holding up.

Just get a dremel or sharp cutters and take the pieces off... I dremel their toys every few months just to remove the 'pieces'

I agree, just Dremel the sharp area smooth. I do their Nylabones like that.
