Chewable sticks?

We have one, Hudson was never interested in it. He has never chewed it.

I have never tried these. I'm a chicken when it comes to trying new things for my dogs. Just not worth it to me. We stick with nylabones and I stuff a kong every now and then with canned food and then freeze it.

No way would I give one of mine that.

Never used it... Seen them but never bought --- nylabones, antlers and marrow bones

I've never heard of it and I'm not too sure about it. I tend to lean towards the natural chew toys because Bisou eats anything in sight and Shasta is a destroyer of toys. We only kept a Nylabone around because, after testing it, it doesn't seem to be very easily consumable by the pair working together. The girls absolutely love antlers, and while they cost a little more they last forever in our house.

I will skip it. I'm a chicken too when it comes to giving things to my dogs.

We give our dogs bully sticks, as they take forever to work through, so I never worry about chunks breaking off and having them choke on them.

We also give them those big knuckle beef bones, as again, there's not much for them to get off of them, and whatever pieces they can get off are small, soft, and digestible.

That being said, both of my Frenchies *love* to chew on wood. Our back yard has a bunch of bark mulch, and boy oh boy...it's like a never-ending buffet for those two. So far they haven't had any issues, and they chew on bark mulch all the time. Still, I certainly wouldn't *buy* them anything made with wood. LOL

We stick with nylabones and kongs as they are safe for our heavy duty chewers!

I got Bentley a bully stick and after he was going at it forever I thought I was going to have to invest in Bully Sticks all the time. However... I then noticed that the ends turn into some type of white slimey substance. Something out of ghostbusters. So I threw it away. Anyone else have this problem?

Yep! It turns all white and slimey once they chew it down. But still, they don't break off into large chunks. If I am concerned that they could chomp off a big gob of it, I'll just cut the slimey part off with scissors. Problem solved! Then they're back to working on the hard stuff and no worries. :)

When I first saw those chews it said "made of real wood" and I said to my husband "Well that's not good. I don't think eating wood is a good idea unless you're a termite".

I have seen these but never tried them. I have a hard enough time trying to get my dogs not to eat wood.
