Choppers eye popped like a balloon

somehow my 4 year old frenchie popped his eye as the vet said.. like a balloon. this is a long recovery process as the vet says the eye doesn't make its own blood so he is in a cone and he is taking eye drops that have been mixed with his blood twice a day. He cannot wear the Kong blow up cone because he thinks its a toy and goes cray trying to pop it which is a risk factor for his eye. at this point he is at risk of loosing the whole eye. he is so sad in the cone and just wants held all the time. not to mention that he makes me hand feed him hold his water bowl in my hand to drink. He 100% doesn't need me to do these things but his mental state is getting worse daily. He don't even want to walk outside to go potty. If I'm not holding him, he is laying in my bed. I don't want to call the vet and put him on more meds. any ideas on the cone? I know the cone is what's making him act this way.

So sorry this has happened…. I would still try the soft/donut cone, he will adjust and settle into it not thinking it’s a toy

It has been three weeks and it's safe to say my boy is depressed. I have 8 frenchies in total right now and he cant play with them, be around them, nothing. He is 4 so normally he really don't care to play with the other dogs but he loves playing with his favorite toys and now that's it's not an option to play, he is so sad. I hate this. Chop was my first frenchie and he is my biggest baby and my oldest so it breaks my heart to watch him be miserable
