So we have a 1 year old girl who when just with our family is a perfect angel. She listens to commands, plays fetch, cuddles but as soon as anyone comes over for a visit she goes crazy, running circles around them, jumping on them for about 25 minutes and then she returns back to perfect angel..... until the next visitor comes and she does it again. We have tried to leash her but as soon as we remove the leash she goes through the 25 minute crazy spell, it seems as if her ears turn off. Any tips or suggestions? I just wish people would be able to see the good girl we see.

She is still full of pup, plus a typical Frenchie. Sometimes it helps to have your guest ignore her when they come in until she calms down, then they can pet her. Hopefully she will grow out of this, but some will not. Frencies love people.

When I am having people come over, I'll put Gus in his crate (open top, full view of the action) until all of the excitement of people arriving is done. Some guests will go talk to him and say hi, others ignore him. Once everyone is kind of settled and the loudness and craziness of greetings is done, I will open Gus' crate. He'll typically just do his normal thing. It's mainly the arrival process that seems to get him overly excited.

I agree with davidh. She will probably get better as she gets older. They DO love people though.
