Hi everyone! I had a really quick question about my french bulldog's ears -- Charlie is almost 4 months old, and it seems like whenever he runs around and shakes things off, his ears go every which way!! His ears are definitely up -- they literally make up about 75% of him...but sometimes, they seems to almost point all the way back in his head. Like whenever I pick him, it seems like all he has is a head lol because his ears are pointed back. They don't flop down or anything like that, they just...don't seem very sturdy. I can't remember my first french bulldog's ears, Chunks, when he was that age...obviously, now that Chunks is two years old, his ears are nice and attached to his head....Charlie is teething (biting on a table leg as I type this), so I guess I should wait? Just wanted to see what you all think! Thank you!

Here's a pic of Mr. Charlie just for the fun of it!

Everything sounds normal to me. The ears point back when you pick him up because he is either excited or doesnt know what to expect so he is in a submissive mode.
His ears in those pics look perfect.

Exactly! Charlie is a cutie!

Seems normal to me. His ears are massive! So they aren't going to be stiff up all the time. Plus they move their ears all the time in different ways. Sometimes Banksy will move one of his ears like a satellite dish so he can hear what's going on in front and also beside him LOL

As others have said they can move them back when they are being submissive, plus when they are teething their ears can get floppy, and will firm back up after they are finished teething

Thank you everyone ! Yes sometimes his ears are almost flat on the back of his head. Right now he is sleeping on my lap and his right ear is basically judt lying back on his head while the other is somewhat straight ! Hopefully they will stand up straight in a couple of weeks or months!! Here's another pic of his ears going back lol

Louie my dog also does this all the time. It's just because he is submissive and in a loving mood. So he leans his ears back, which is perfectly fine.

However, at around 3 months old his ears started to curl a bit backwards, but this is just because of teething, as they are using a lot of calcium during this phase. This was solved immediately by using some puppy growth supplements with calcium.

He just turned 4 months old this past 25th. What supplements did you use? He's a little on the smaller side....so I don't if he's just developing slowly or what...

Some french stuff.. i really can't remember a name now. Even though Lou is still on them and he really likes them as a treat. The vet recommended them.
