Hello.

Really Nice to find out there is a forum only for frenchies!

I have been Reading alot about frenchies and after i did meet with one who had one im just SOLD
So much personality and it just fit my needs and i fit their needs.

My question is do i Pick a male or a female as a first time frenchie owner. I've read alot different opinions about this. So im kinda confused.

Hope you guys have some usefull inputs

Regards

I think it all just depends on what you prefer and which one you fall in love with. When I was looking for a Frenchie I originally wanted a girl but then I saw a picture of Chip (now Jax), and I wanted him so badly and I got him. Some people on here have both a male and a female and can probably weigh in more.

Okay thanks for your input.

I have just read that some say there is a different in training temper, and personality. But then again i have read so many different opinions. So im kinda confused.

Honestly, I think you will love whatever you get. They are adorable and have huge personalities.

Well. Some people are just saying that females are hard to train compared to a male. And as it is my first i Would like the easiesy gender. Both for the dog and for my own sake

Personally owning one of each my girl is more independent but loves to lounge around all day as long as you are with her, and my boy is mischievous and a huge snuggle bug.

I always pick male dogs because they seem more social. I've got to admit I've met some very social Frenchie females though!

My female is laid back and is definately a ppl person. She loves attention but on the other hand she is not a snuggler.

Personally, I feel males tend to be more laid back and snuggly while females tend to be more independent and playful. This has just been my experience, so take it with a grain of salt!

Okay thanks alot for all the Answers. I Think i Will go for the male.

Of course, all is just personal opinion. I couldn't make up my mind either, so I have one of each. :D However, when I was first looking for my FIRST Frenchie (my Leo), I've always heard a neutered male makes the best companion, cuddly and affectionate, which I have found true in my case. I love both my babies the same, but Leo is definitely the little lover and cuddly!

I have 2 dogs but my female is a Boston Terrier, aka a LOT more energy. She's definitely more independent and is hard to snuggle when she's not ready to stop playing. Wally, my Frenchie, is always up for snuggles. If this is what you are looking for then definitely get a male.

Good luck!

Oh man thats a tough one. There is so much too choose from. Male, female, male, frmale, male, female, male , female

I wouldn't get too hung up on the sex. Finding a good breeder is the key. I was leaning more towards a male but wasn't against a female. When we visited the breeder and she showed me the sire I fell in love with his big bully head. I really wanted a black mask fawn too and she happened to have one male. Jake is definitely more of a snuggler than my Stella, who is a little more independent. We love them both and they compliment each other perfectly. I could never have two Stellas though.

Personally having both my male is more sensitive and my female is more independent. My girl is a cuddle bug... so is my male but they are both so different. My male is attached to me and my female is attached to my boyfriend. My male is more playful with toys and us and my female is more playful with the male dog. That could also be she was raised with him and he was raised just with us at first and no puppy sibling. Good luck !!!
