This is like CRACK for chowder right now. He wont stop hahha hes almost through his first one.

But my question is how much is too much? I'd rather have chowder chew on the Himalayan chew than our chairs.

Does anyone know if this will make him fat, or can i leave it out and give it to him everyday? let me know thank you :)

I have never tried these, but I would not let it get too small, so he will not swallow it.

My little Stella thinks that Himalayan dog chews are crack as well. I started getting them for her when she was a puppy and she has never chewed a single thing.

They have not made her fat as my vet said they are basically dried cheese that just gets powdery when they chew them!

If they get small you can put them in the microwave for about 15 seconds at a time and they will get bigger, but it always throw them away before they get too small!

Jax LOVES them as well and goes crazy. I throw it away as well once it becomes a small piece.

My English Bulldog LOVED this, but the mess just was not worth it and I was also afraid she would swallow too big of a piece......

My Maddie loves these and they ARE like doggie crack! We called them Yacky bones and she gets totally excited when she hears me say it. Our chihuahuas also love these!

My girl loved these as well! Unfortuntely she couldnt have too much of them or shed throw it back up. So I had to take it away from her after a few minutes and give it back to her later on. The last little piece I always threw out since Maple likes to swallow pieces that are way to big for her...

My dogs LOVE these. Also the best part is that when the chew gets too small that it might be digested whole you can put it in the microwave and it turns into a big popcorn like treat :)

haha i tried microwaving, but the mess was too much. Chowder is leaving little shreds of cheese everywhere haha.

I got one of these today. Hudson ran around with it crying until he could find a suitable hiding place. Now I can't find it! Ugh. He is so weird.

eeturk hahahahahahaha now i have to get one

If he gets something he really likes, he does a dance around it and like rolls (we call it courting the toys/treats because he looks so ridiculous) and then he cries like you wouldn't believe until he can find somewhere to "bury" it inside. He hides things in the weirdest places and he ALWAYS remembers where they are.

Omg this is soo funny and cute!!! :)

CHEESE!?!?! - Ah HA!!! Tony I think that maybe the issue with Chowder and his tummy being painful. The others were probably right. Constipation! Cheese will back you up. Try taking that away for a while and see if his tummy improves.

Good observation!

I just have to thank you for the tip on this. I'd never heard of these things before, but looked at the ingredients and immediately bought a pack. This is the most popular thing I've ever brought into the house! I wish Bisou didn't insist on doing her gnawing while on the couch because these things are CRAZY messy, but if it makes her happy ... Thanks again, from both me and Lil Beezy :)

I went to REI lastnight to get a carabiner for Q's leash and stoller and in the doggy section they had these Himalayan Chews. I remembered this thread and HAD to get them. The next 10 minutes were spent contemplating whether I get the under 15lb dog or under 55lb dog. I got the 15 lb dog as they seemed perfect for Q. What I quickly forgot was what Quella can't chew, she swallows. So within a moment of her getting it, she started trying to gag and couldn't breathe and by the time I got up, she spit it out. She walked it off and went back at it. Not less than another moment later, she swallowed and choked on it again. I immediately took it away and am now stuck with 3 treats. I HATE returning things, but I might have to 'try' in this scenario.

XoXo from Quella La Roux and her mommy too!

Have never heard of or seen but might have to check it out if they love them that much.

@Calle_Roo - don't return them. Pop them in the microwave on high for about 45 seconds to a minute. The thing will blow up like a giant rice cake and Quella can gnaw on it without the risk of choking. I get the giant ones and let Bisou chew until they get to about 1/3 of the size and then nuke 'em. Both ways keep her occupied for a long time.
