Hi,
I have a 7 month old and I was wondering how many times he should be eating per day?
he's eating Fromm Puppy Gold and he weights 26 Lbs.
I been given him 1/2 a cup 2 times per day but he has loose stools, also he eats Greek yogurt (plain) and 100% pumpkin organic
and he still hungry.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong :(
Thanks a lot
Karla

Well, according to the Fromm Gold Puppy Food feeding guide, you are under-feeding him:

http://frommfamily.com/products/gold/dog/dry/puppy-gold/daily-feeding-recommendations/

It says he should be eating about 2 1/4 cups per day.
Even with exercise considerations in mind, it does seem that a mere 1 cup per day is too little.

Also as a note, when we tried to give Bear some canned pumpkin it made his stools loose.
But perhaps that is not the culprit in your case.

I do know that Fromm Puppy contains grains, so perhaps this is the onset of your dog's intolerance to them.
I often wonder that about Bear, as his stools are not always firm.

Thank you so much for the information IkClark
I'm gonna add his food to 2 1/4 per day
and I gonna stop the pumpkin and see what happens !

26 lbs for a 7 months old doesnt seem too bad though. Do you have a side view of him?
Maple is 10 months and only weights 22 lbs.
But some Frenchies are build a little different.

At 7 months you can think about switching over to the Fromm grain free line... it is all stages and if grains are his issue you will know quickly

At 7 months I would switch him to FROMM 4 star adult food and feed between 1/2 to 3/4 cup twice a day. The loose stool usually means too much food, but in this case I don't think so, but the puppy food could not be agreeing with him. We always switch ours to adult food around 7 months of age. He is 26 pounds so his weight is fine.
