With Dante in daycare today I had time for a leisurely shopping trip to Trader Joe's. (who am I kidding -- Trader Joe's is never a leisurely shopping trip.) anyway, I picked up some organic raw honey. Dante has been biting at his paws recently and sniffling, and I found a few spit-out Zyrtecs on the floor. He managed to get all of his kibble down while sneaking out half of that tiny little pill. Was wondering what your experiences were with organic raw honey. How much should I give him? And will it benefit him to feed it every day?

Random bonus question - i picked up some freeze dried mango as well, only ingredient is mango, they're yummy. I wanna share with Dante... Would that be okay?

i use vanilla ice cream to hide the pills... small amount just enough to get the pill down the hatch. mango -sure, just not a lot..

as for the honey - I heard great things related to environmental allergies but it has to be locally made honey to be the right stuff. organic bought in the store... not sure about the benefits

Bisou gets about 1/2 teaspoon of raw honey with her dinner every night. I started giving it to her about a month ago when she got an upper respiratory infection and just continued to give it to her because I read it was good for their digestion. I cannot say for certain that it is the reason she's stopped chewing her paws, or if it's due to something else, but she's not chewing her paws. Yeah, none. W00t!

We feed Bees a ton of fruit - fresh and freeze-dried. Maybe not a ton, but a decent amount. She loves it. Bananas and cantaloupe are her favorites. I'm going to try mango now!

I used to throw Jax's pills in with his kibble until I started finding the pills on the floor, uneaten. Now I manually give him any pills in a dab of peanut butter or with some cottage cheese.

I have heard about locally made honey helping people with environmental allergies, did not know the same thing worked for dogs. Jax is allergic to practically everything outside, maybe I should look into this.

I have heard that local honey does help with allergies, and heard to give a teaspoon once a week. Peanut butter does help with pills.

I haven't tried honey, but the Greenies peanut butter pill pockets are a huge hit in my house. I get the capsule sized ones and cut them in half or quarters depending on what med I'm giving.

Wilson's new favorite fruit is apples, which he finds in the yard fallen off the tree.
