Male Frenchie 1 year & 4 months peeing in house

Hi fellow frenchie owners!
I noticed my boy has started to mark! I am so shocked. But something else I’ve been observing is when he is let out of his area, he is peeing wherever her wants to and it’s so confusing because he will know where to pee, but isn’t!
Has anyone has experience with this?
Tonight he was let out of his area, and he peed in my room, then peed on the brand new bed I got him, then i watched him mark in another room!
I’ve told him no and put him in time out but it’s clearly not working. I’m not sure the best way to train these guys!
Any advice is REALLY appreciated!

I have just put a similar pot on my 3 year old has just started doing the same, so will watch with interest, so frustrating as he was so house trained up to the last couple of months.

When I got Spanky, he was about 50% house trained, we used a "pee pad"(had never before) and lot of praise and a cookie(biscuit) treat when he did well, and used "Nature's Miracle" cleaner so no odor emanated from the spot later.Six mos.later he is 90% house trained.
