My 6 month old puppy woke up with an erect penis

So this is a first for him. He woke up acting really weird. Scraping his feet on the bed like they do after defecating. He also seemed to be breathing a little heavy. I look down to his stomach and his penis was exposed. Did he just have a wet dream?
It was almost like he did not know what was going on either. He looked confused.
Is this normal for a 6 month old? Will he be having more of these episodes?

It can be normal especially if they are not neuter. This happen to Cheli a few times, but it turned out he had 'dry' skin around the tip and I had to add an ointment for a few days
