Hi all,
First time poster, First time dog mum..
Needing advice to enforce the “leave it” command, it works from time to time (mostly when we have a treat to entice her away) but there are times when she’ll take the treat and then go straight back to the thing (it can be anything, but the worst things - that she loves the most - are sand, mud, horse poo and dead cut grass)..
The urgency I have is with sand, and shingle, as the weather is getting hotter, and tomorrow is due to be 36 degrees where I live
we want to go to the beach to keep cool, but there aren’t many fully pebble beaches close enough that are also dog friendly - and we need to be careful with her paws. She doesn’t just eat the sand/shingle, she sort of kicks it up in front of her face on purpose and chases/snaps at it.. any advice is appreciated
Pls help
