Hi everyone,

I recently got a French bulldog puppy after 2 very long years of waiting/researching. He just turned 10 weeks 2 days ago and I'm kind of stuck on what food to give him as he is still on the food the breeder sent. I was interested in giving him a raw diet but I'm seeing conflicting reviews about it not having all the nutrients for a growing pup. I also looked into some kibble brands and I'm between Fromm and Orijen although the high protein content has me conflicted. I also thought about mixing a 1/4 of the kibble with either some dehydrated raw. If anyone could point me in the right direction that'd be greatly appreciated as I am on dogfoodadvisor and it is a bit overwhelming.

Thanks in advance

P.s I'll post some pics of the little guy (Yoda) later when I get home from work :)

Congrats on your new baby and yes...we need pictures!!

You can most definitely feed raw to a puppy. Raw is the best way to go as far as diet. Fromm, Orijen, Acana are all good quality kibbles as well. You can also do kibble and a dehydrated raw like The Honest Kitchen or Grandma Lucy's.

Wow, long time to wait, but a great reward at the end; congratulations!

Looking forward to Yoda's pictures.

Here is the other side of the due-diligence coin...

My wife and I were 4 months into our 6 month no-dog purchase moratorium.

On a Monday she asked, pretty much out of the blue, if I would ever want a Frenchie.

We picked up Loki from the breeder's house five days later.

Guess it was meant to be.

Hahaha that is so funny, I think that will be me sooner than later :) Definitely don't think I'll be waiting as long the second time around.

Thank you for your recommendations! Would you recommend the honest kitchen as a stand alone? Or any other good Raw's for a puppy. I looked into Answers as well.

I don't know anything about raw, but I just wanted to say hi and welcome. :)

You can definitely do THK for all meals if you wanted to. I mainly use Vital Essentials frozen raw which is more prey model as there’s no fruits or veggies. Primal and Stella & Chewy’s are also good brands and those do have fruits and veggies.

You can definitely do THK as a stand alone, or mixed with a high quality kibble, like the ones mentioned.

Answers Pet Food is excellent. Their sourcing is superb, they don't use HPP (like Stella & Chewy's and the Primal poultry do), and I love the fact that they use fermentation - great probiotics, etc. Highly recommend Answers products.

Make sure the Honest Kitchen food you buy has all life stages recommendation. Some of theirs are only recommended for adults and seniors.

Welcome to FBN!!! He is adorable!!!

Gang has given great advice on food... nest of luck and keep the pictures coming
