Ollie broke his elbow at 4 months old in a bold move to try and jump down 3 stairs. Landing on his elbow and breaking it with loud and heart wrenching crying non-stop! After 2 days and one $4000 surgery he was all fixed up with 2 pins and one screw in the elbow. Well here we are at 10 months and it looks like the screw is trying to now come out. The surgeon did say it was a possibility that it would work it's way out and that if it did he probably does not need it any longer. We have an appt next week on Thursday to have the elbow looked at again and they may have to go back in and take the screw out. :( Not looking forward to leaving my baby at the hospital again. The surgeon did say it should be an ease and quick surgery. Maybe they can just knock him out quickly and take it out. Keep him in your thoughts next Thursday when we find out what they plan to do for him.

Ouchie! Poor Ollie! Our thoughts will be with him and I am sure he will be good as new very soon! :)

PS - welcome back to the site, haven't seen you in a while!

OUCH... that looks painful! probably isn't but OUCH!

prayers for you and your little man

Ouch......that's a big bump. :( My understanding is that what he experiencing can be pretty common. I would imagine it would be a quick procedure. We were warned with one of our labs that had a TPLO (ACL repair) that the hardware in her knee may become loose one day and need to be taken out, but the joint would remain stable.

Good luck next week. I will be thinking about y'all.

Poor Ollie. Good luck and hope all goes well (I'm sure it will).

Poor baby, I hope it is a simple procedure and they don't keep him.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I have been absent! We moved recently. Purchased a home. The doggies are in heaven.

I worrry that it's painful for him too. He was limping on it last week, but only for a day then stopped. He runs and plays normal but I worry it's not right. I'm keeping a close eye on it and if things change i will take him in before the appt we have with the specialist in a week. Those suregons are busy!

Ok - I moved up Ollie's vet visit to today. He ws playing over the weekend and he screamed in pain. I'm worried the screw is causing pain. WE are headed there in about 2 hours. Fingers crossed they can remove the screw and that will solve the issue.

Aww, poor Ollie! Hope everything turns out ok!
