I have a 6 month male Frenchi and lately he has been eating his own poop. I’ve read before that this could be a vitamin issue but I would like to hear what others think about this.

None of my dogs eat poop (thank god) so I don't have any experience but try searching in the search box as I am fairly certain there have been threads on this issue. In the meantime, I would suggest picking up the poop ASAP to try and avoid future eating.

It can be for a few reasons.... too much protein in the food you are feeding or they just like it ,,, so try to clean up as soon as they go to avoid them getting to it

I'm now dealing with a frenchie pup that loves his poo .... a friend of mine in rescue suggested meat tenderizer mixed in their food... it seems to be working. if you have other dogs just a sprinkle in all their food.

Hi everyone, I've just registered today so I'm jumping in at the deep end on this because I have the same problem with my little fellow. He's not really choosy, he'll eat deer, fox and cat poop, as well as his own and he's very quick on his feet making it a challenge to get to it first. Our vet has said that many breeds do this and it's generally a case of learning to live with it. I have tried him with pineapple which at least puts him off his own and it seems to help a bit but it's mainly a case of beating him to it. You have my sympathy but if he's fully vaccinated and worm protected, as in Bravecto, he's at least most of the way there. The best of luck.
