Good afternoon, and finally HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

chowder just turned 5 months (seems like yesterday when he came home :(( ) By now i thought he would have the whole potty training routine down.

we leave out pee pads inside our home, and have him go outside as well on walks. *we dont mind the pee pads*

Is it just chowder or do all dogs/frenchies hit a wall around 4-6 months of age and make mistakes and learn to be more stubborn?

Also Whenever chowder meets a dog that is smaller or younger than him he will do whatever it takes to take them down, and nibble at their ears and face (i understand its playing) but last weekend i saw chowder go up to a 9month old black lab and do the same thing and chowder was getting tossed around left and right. hahha is this normal behavior for a bully breed like a frenchie? Hes gotten nipped a couple times from older bigger dogs.
haha hopefully he'll learn his lesson soon.

thank you guys any input would be awesome!

Tallulah was 5 months old yesterday. At about the same stage of potty training as you are. She goes outside, will sometimes even tell us she needs to go out, but also goes in the house. Sometimes on the pads, sometimes not. She is also the same way with dogs as Chowder. She loves them all big or small. We have my sons lab mix with us temporarily . Shes 45 pounds of high energy vs 9 lbs of Tallulah. Doesn't phase her at all. She is on top of her, climbing on her head, chasing her tail, underneath her - gets swatted around in puppy play, but still comes back for more. She is smart enough to know to hide behind something the bigger dog can't get behind or under. And then when the dog least expects it, she ambushes her, lol. Its very funny. So, it sounds like their behaviors are very similar and age appropriate.

Yep all normal, he should pretty much be potty trained by next month. As far as the play goes, they love to play and want to be on top. When you see him get too rough, just stop the play and he will figure out it is not accepted.
