Pepper is 11 months old and 22 lbs. We got her at 13 weeks and she was TINY. 4 lbs. Now she's SUPER tall and thin, with a tiny head. I have heard they keep growing until they're 2 years old, but will her head and chest expand? We live in NYC, and everyone on the street always says, "oh a Boston Terrior!"

She will fill out more probably. Did you see her parents?

She does kind of look like she could be at least crossed with a boston terrier.

Anyway its hard to say... they continue to grow until about 2 years old I think, someone has mentioned that before on this thread. Every dog is different!

Her height makes me think she's a mix with a Boston? But I saw 2 bostons together just yesterday evening and they were very short! They were 8 years old!

I agree that her ears are totally frenchie ears!

My Isabelle has a slimmer, taller frame, and a smaller head than most frenchies.

She's all muscle though, there is no fat on this girl.

I think she's just a skinny mini and I think it's probably a good thing! Especially in these breeds! I wouldn't want a short over-weight dog! :)

She will most definitely fill out more. Stella is 19 lbs and has a petite frame and head, but I started to notice her filling out across the chest at about about 1 1/2 yrs. old.

she is too freakin sweet.... they continue to grow until 2 yrs so her head MAY widen some

She's gorgeous!! I have one of each, a Boston and a Frenchie. Her features look all Frenchie but she seems to have the body of a tall, thin Boston.

Everyone I meet thinks that Uma is a mixed Boston because she's not tall and thin, which is how they seem to be breeding them now. She's very chesty and she's all muscle.

Thanks everyone! I am not "worried" per se, because no matter how she looks, I'll still be obsessed with her. Just also curious, ya know?

I think people's first reaction is that she's a Boston because of her coloration. You would be surprised at how many "civilians" don't know what a frenchie looks like. She is darling and still growing into her body.

I agree. Someone asked me if Twiggy was a baby pit bull. There was also someone who herded their kids away in Petco like she was a vicious killer of some sort. She wasn't even looking at them.

Seriously??? Twiggy has the sweetest looking face! I would have played with it and agreed she's a baby pit, and then act like she was going to charge at them. I'm nice like that. :D

Most people still call my dogs pugs if they are clueless about dogs.

Yes she should fill out more over the next year. She's still a teenager. You should see my teenage son, he's 6'6" and he is a twig. haha

She sorta of looks like my Buckwheat only she's taller. They are marked a lot alike though. He's a Frenchton.

As others have said, she is still growing and should widen out a bit more. She is a beauty though.

she's perfect. some take years to fully develop but i think she looks perfect.

Not quite the same but when we had our British Bulldogs the looked so different. They were from the same little, full pedigree etc but looked so different. Hudson was very tall for a bulldog, quite athletic looking (more like they were when originally bred)! But Otto was so short a stubby. What I'm saying is each dog is individual (funny photo of my hubby 😂 Looking young 10yrs ago) X
