My wife and I have recently retired ( early) and never owned a dog, but love the frenchie and looking for as much advise about buying, owning and looking after one as possible , so hello from me and looking forward to your words of wisdom

Welcome to FBN. When buying any pet finding a breeder that breeds for health and temperament is the most important. Go to some dog shows, watch the Frenchies (usually shown in am because of heat). Talk with the Frenchie people and find out who is having litters and what their recommendations are. Go visit the kennels, meet the breeders and their stock. Ask for references and check them. You may end up paying more for a pup up front, but will save money and stress in the long run by getting a healthy pup!
