My french bulldog puppy 6 months old 9kgs is now on Acana Pacifica (34% Protein).
Everyday I feed him 150g, split into two meals.
His poop is so smelly and it smells like fish... If he poop when I'm sleeping I could wake up from that smell.

I've hear lots of comments about french bulldog should only have 25% protein in their diet. High protein causes excessive tearing, ichiness, gassiness, red bumps, smelly poop, smelly urine etc.
He's activity level is kinda low, just romps around the house daily.
Should I be concern about it?

His breeder suggested me to use Blackwood 3000 all life sages (24% protein)
That's what he feed his puppies and he insist that high protein is bad for frenchie. But I really don't want to use this food as it's full of negative and poor reviews.

Any recommend brand I should buy?
Most of the 5-star high quality kibbles have higher protein rates.
I've been recommended ToTw Pacific Stream (25% protein) - but lots of recalls throughout the year.
Earthbond Holistic Coastal Catch (32% protein)

I know there's a lot of good brands out there but it's not always available in my country. So I'll list several brands that's available in stores. (I'll leave out cheapo stuffs like Royal Canin / Alpo / Pedigree / Eukanuba / Science Plan / Hills which I will not consider)
1) Wellness Core
2) Orijen
3) Taste of the Wild
4) Happy Dog
5) Meradog
6) Acana
7) Fish4dogs
8) Blackwood
9) Merrick
10) Nutriedge
11) Zignature
12) Caviar Canine
13) Nutrience
14) Nutram
15) Addiction
16) By Nature
17) Golden Eagle
18) Canagan

Here we go again : The good old protein is bad myth :P
Its simple; The lower the protein content, the higher the carbs (sugars!).

Maple and the cats are raw fed and are thriving and a pure sign of health.

Acana & Orijen are the best kibble out there imo. You know what you're getting ingredients-wise. Especially Orijen, which is high in protein(probably the highest out of all kibble), potato and grain free, is a great choice.

Most kibbles get their synthetic mineral/vitamin mix from China(they still label Made in the US/Canada) and some also use other ingredients from very questionable sources. Champion(Acana/Orijen) is the only one that I know of that has a guarantee that all ingredients are from North America.

It is normal that his poop smells a little fishy when you feed a fish based food
;)

Thanks for your reply.
I used to feed BARF (premade raw - chicken) but it was opposed by the breeder.
When I feed raw the poop is so small and literally odorless.
So this stinky poo and pee really makes me wonder if anything is wrong there.

I chose Acana over Orijen because Orijen might be a little too rich and will give my baby the runs (What people say)

You can add Fromm. ALL of their ingredients are sourced in the U.S.

Oh, missed that.

Unfortunately there are still a few misinformed people out there that have no clue about a species appropriat diet and are scared/nervous. But more and more people are starting to do their own research and understand.
Honestly if you were happy with your dog on a raw/barf diet, put him back on to it ;)

I agree that if you were happy on the barf diet? Switch back.

Neither breeder we got our pups from approved of our food choices. Do we care? Not a bit, I would rather do my research, see what other Frenchie owners (especially on this forum) are doing, and work that in with my own happiness level, and gauge my dogs over-all health with it.

We feed 32% protein (I believe) and we use Fromm, and Merrick Grain-Free Puppy. (Both dry food)

Agreed!

I was told by a k-9 dealer that the perfect pool should be solid and smell nothing, so you don't have to clean it's anal and the no smell pool will attract no offenders in the wild
But some also said the household dog stomach has evolved to take in human food like kibbles
But I believe raw food like brad should always be the best choice due to the moisture and the enzyme of the fresh meat
I would love to offer k9 or brad to my frenchie but the cost is just too high and I am now Fromm(poultry recipe of Asian district)

If Rosie was happy on the BARF diet, then that's what I would go with.

I agree with everyone else, that you need to find what works best for you and your pup. Acana & Orijen are both good foods. We feed ours FROMM, but I know you can not get that where you live.
