Hi! Just want to ask how many times should a 5mos old frenchie poop? I noticed mine poops

First, upon waking up and sometimes after first meal (when he poops a little upon waking up in the morning)

Second is around afternoon maybe around 3pm.

Third is after his last meal 5pm usually 1.5-2hrs later.

Fourth is i think in the early morning like 3-4am maybe? Because everytime i woke up in the morning he have poop on his potty spot.

Is this normal for his age, i read that puppies can't control their pooping time until they reach adult. Not sure about what i read tho. His poop is normal not loose/runny but something like solid to semi solid.

My name is Pablo. Pablo "Ears"cobar :))

As long as the stool seems normal, it doesn’t sound like you have any thing to be concerned about. As he gets older, he should settle into a schedule of just a couple times a day. Congratulations on your new family member.

agreed, he'll definitely settle in. He's got a favorite poop spot, so that's positive. Have you tried shutting him in his crate. I'm sure that you've learned that dogs don't like to soil where they sleep. The rule of thumb is that they should be able to hold their water an hour for every month of age. So your 5 month old should be shut in his crate for no more than 5 hours.

I will try to do this :)) but he is used to roam around the house. Do you think shutting him in his crate would be good??

yes...he may not appreciate it at first. but dogs are denning animals. In the wild, dogs live in dens underground. They feel safe there.
You need to get him to love his crate. slowly introduce it to him, using treats. do not skimp on the treats and praise. maybe lure him in but do not force him. There are some really good training videos on you tube

Crate = safe place

Just some News! My family don't want him into a crate hehehe they just want him to roam around the house as long as he poops in the right place it's fine with them which i agreed to. And it is confirmed rhat he poops during 3am to 4am but usually around 3:30am hehe
Can i train him to pee at the same place as well? I noticed that he poops at same place but never pee on the same place. Or seldom.
