Shedding

Over the past couple of weeks Jax has been shedding like crazy and I just gave him a bath and there was hair all over my hands and in the tub. He gets salmon oil with his dinner every night and shedding was never an issue before. He does have allergies, could this be contributing to the shedding? Is it the season? Part of his fur also looks like it is changing colors a bit.
