Hi,
We found a 6 month old Furry Frenchie in the middle of no where- map shows, “Wildlife Area”, while driving home from a marathon canceled due to a blizzard.
This pup was in bad condition- burnt tail, large neck scar in the shape of a large canine mouth, hungry, dirty, surviving the blizzard conditions. but sooo happy & friendly. We had no idea of the breed or age, & assumed it was an old dog, that was dumped in the area. We were traveling with our Bichon, “Peter”, and both dogs got along instantly. Brought him home, bathed him, took him straight to to E.R. vet that night to check for chip & medical needs. (No chip, no medical issue- vet said it was a 6 month old, “Furry Frenchie”, which has recently become a popular breeding mix of Terrier/Frenchie.) Looked like the cartoon character, “Stitch”, & that’s what we named him.
2 yrs. later, a friend found a 7 month old Frenchie, at the riverbed in So. Calif., on New Years Day. She couldn’t keep her, I took her. Had vet check for chip, posted on every animal search site. Named her, “Angel”, to go along with Stitch theme.
These two pups are the best of friends, unless food/treats are an issue. Our Bichon is fine with them, though avoids their hyper play, as it annoys his calm & elderly lifestyle.
These 2 pups have gained extra weight, & we need to find an affordable diet that is going to provide a long & healthy life for them, as well as learn the breed’s typical traits/habits/known characteristics.
