After seeing what was happening with little baby Enzo, I just can't keep feeding the Blue to Isabelle.

Today I'm going to get a refund (it's their policy) and I will be going to a small business pet store to buy Fromm.

I was thinking since Isabelle is 7 months, I would just start off with the Puppy.

Good idea? Not a good idea?

I'm no pro, so yell at me, advise me, teach me, just look at the posts and learn with me... Anything.

I only want the best for my little Isa!

Fromm 4-star is an all stage food... Meaning you can feed no matter what age. It also has a grain free option -- whichg the puppy formula does not.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll be going with a grain-free for Isabelle.

I'm leaving shortly, so I will let you know what I pick!

We started with Beef Frittata and tried many of the flavors, but have settle on Pork and Peas.

I would go straight to the adult FROMM 4 star. You need to buy a small bag of Blue so you can do a gradual transition to the new food. Ours like the Game Bird.

I'll keep some of the blue we already have.

We have a little less than half a bag.

How exactly do we go about transitioning?

blushy what I do on a transition is first give about 3/4 the old food and 1/4 new. Then everyday decrease the old and increase the new until you are on the new. It should take about 7 days for the transition.

Chance is transitioning from Fromm puppy to Fromm Surf and Turf and he is 7 months - hope the transition for Isa goes smoothly

I went ahead and got the Fromm grain free game bird instead of puppy, I feel like grain free is the way to go, and She's only ever eaten chicken, so I wanted to stick with poultry.

I'm gonna start as soon as I get home.

Wish me luck! I'm scared!

Luck, there should be no problems, we love Fromm it has been so good for Chance we only do grain free however he is allergic to chicken

Isabelle is gobbling down the mixed food.

She's only ever eaten chicken from the blue buffalo, so I don't think she has a problem with chicken...

Let's hope it doesn't upset her belly.

What happens if I just switched 100%?
Just asking... I don't plan to, but I'd like to know...

Upset belly and runny poo

How do I know the difference between that and an allergic reaction to the food?

Ride it out until shes fully on in about a week and then switch types?

I've never dealt with a dog that I couldn't just 100% switch food with.
Growing up we just switched food with our Aussie and my own dog was a pitbull who was picky, but if we had to switch, we did...

I don't want her to get sick, this is why I decided to switch, and I see everyone using the raw or fromm, so I knew it had to be good.

Even my SIL's chihuahua forum use the raw/fromm, or a combo of the two.

I switched Enzo from the breeders food to Blue with no reactions or loose stools when he was 8 weeks since his food is only avaliable online around me. Then I did half Blue half Merrick and he vomited all night. I went back to Blue because I did not know of this problem with their food. And recently I gave Enzo and my pug Fromm over 4 days and a little quick because I did not want anymore kidney damage to Enzo and he was fine. I did 1/4 Fromm then 1/2 then 3/4 and the 4th day 100% Fromm. But I feed 3 times a day so they both adjusted faster. I'm glad you made the switch since Blue is trying to deny my claims and are having their legal team "decide" in the next 8 weeks. In 8 weeks more dogs could be suffering like Enzo did.

Oh my gosh that is so ridiculous! They should be ashamed...
I think you're doing the right thing by spreading the word, especially in the bully community, since lord knows we could all be in your shoes in the blink of an eye if we don't share this info with eachother!

I switched Isabelle the day we brought her home at 8 weeks from the breeders food to Blue, and she's been on that since.
Didn't have any type of reaction as far as I could tell.

I did what I could tell 1/4 Fromm, and I'll do it again for her dinner (I gave her a banana for breakfast, since I didn't want a 100% Blue meal, I really want to get off of that ASAP, especially since hearing of Enzo, & my MIL's Poodle started puking last night after eating it).

Then tomorrow for breakfast I'll do 1/3, but 1/2 for dinner.

I'll see if she takes to that well, if not, cut back again for a couple days.

We are returning our Blue for a refund, so I can't use it all up

Thanks for the advice about the switch!

I don't think Isabelle likes the Game Bird.
She's eating really slowly...

It could just be the difference in the size/shape of the kibble?

I guess we'll see in a couple days.

Luckily, I only bought the small bag, because I like the mix & match idea, to switch up her foods, and I really wanted to try the Beef next.

Okay so after isabelle ate 1/2 of her mixed food (3/4 Blue, 1/4 Fromm), so that is 1/2 cup total food, so she ate half of a half a cup.
How confusing is that?
She stopped eating and was acting like she was going to puke (licking lips excessively and looked suspicious) so I rubbed her head and she stopped. She hasn't done it again, but she also hasn't finished her food.

Is this normal? Like am I adding too much new food maybe? Or maybe she knows something I don't and now doesn't want to eat?

She's eating a lot slower than usual, and seems to get full faster, maybe it's too much for her and she needs smaller portions now?

She also seemed a little constipated this morning, isn't that opposite of what people experience?

I'm most concerned about her having an allergic reaction than anything, since I got the Game Bird, there are so many different things she could be allergic to
.
She doesn't get lethargic, and is playing normally, but it's not like her to not finish her food before having a romp around the living room...
And especially not like her to seem pukey after eating... Which I want to just go ahead and say it's because she isn't used to the food, but it worries me a lot at the same time.

I'm a mom, and a dog mom, it's in my blood. :P

I'd say add some wet Fromm to the kibble. Gives them a bit more hydration and makes it super tasty.

over 10 dyas.... 3/4 old to 1/4 new and then slowly lessen the old till you ahve 100% new

I feel like she's getting too full too quickly with the mix. I'm still only feeding a 1/2 cup at a time, but she can't seem to finish.

Well I don't want to add anything yet, since yesterday was only day 1 of switching foods, and today is only day 2.

And none of my dogs have ever eaten wet food... Unless they refused to eat? We got the gravy packs and mixed about 1/3 of the amount you can use into the dry food.

I'll consider looking into it once she is 100% on the Fromm.

Any flavors your frenchie goes crazy for? (If you feed the wet Fromm)
