Adoption fee $300
Location: Houston area
Cooper was surrendered when his elderly owner was no longer capable to care for him. His is approximately 8-9 years old, partially deaf, limited vision and takes medication for mild seizures. He tends to startle easily and is picky about what humans or dogs he likes. He has been known to snap in defense if startled. He is good with submissive dogs and cats, but prefers people. He tends to gravitate towards women as his previous owner was an elderly woman. He did develop small bladder stones, but we were able to get rid of them with prescription diet. He will need to be on this diet for the remainder of his life. It causes him to urinate more frequently so he has many belly bands he wears. A person who is home most of the day would be best for this elderly statesmen. Cooper is a very affectionate guy once he trusts you. He does have quirks and does not want to be told what to do, but he is smart and does settle in after a bit. He really is a great little frenchie once he knows you are trustworthy! His mild seizures are manages with Phenobarbitol which is not an expensive medication. He loves to take his pills in a treat. He has some spinal malformations common with the breed. They do not cause him any issues. He is looking for a calm home to live out the rest of his days.
