I am so excited to join this group! We recently got our fur baby in February 2025 and we are just smitten! He is 4.5 months old and his name is Chewy. He is having GI issues and I don’t know where to turn. He has been to his vet and up to date on all vaccines, takes his heart worm/flea/tick pill monthly and gaining weight appropriately. Biggest problem, vomiting and gas/belching. We started on dry kibble when we got him and we switched to a half fresh/half kibble when we noticed vomiting. The vomit doesn’t happen until hours after eating so Im so confused. He has regular BMs, no diarrhea. Is he allergic to foods that we don’t know about? Please help our little darling! Any thoughts?

What brand and protein do you feed? When vomit what does it look like?

I would avoid chicken if feeding kibble it is a high allergic response in bulldogs

We were doing the brand Nulo, grain free baked and brothy. Yes it had chicken in it. We started half fresh pet vital puppy (comes in the refrigerated section dog food aisle) and half Nulo kibble, still vomiting. As of 3 days ago I started cooking fresh on my own for him and I don’t want to jinx it but NO VOMIT! I am so happy but he still burps a lot, looks and sounds very much like acid reflux. Im using instapot and chopping sirloin, ground beef, salmon, pumpkin purée, and cooked steel cut oats. He scarfs it down but I try to get him to take “breathers” while he’s eating. We got him the raised tilted bowl and Im praying he continues with no vomit. Thank you for your reply and I would love to hear any further thoughts :)

That’s a great meal, be sure to add some liver here and there and if you can bone broth. You can give anti acid, 10mg a day. I buy generic store brand and use as needed. Do t get chewable… you want the tiny tablets
