how to add avatar/icon photo?

I feel sort of ridiculous asking this as I'm sure it's obvious and I'm just missing it :ashamed: but how do I add a photo so it shows beneath my name when I post? Not the signature area (though I guess I'd like to do that too!) but what I guess is called the avatar or icon? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

In the top right corner of the screen select 'settings', once on that page... on the left is a menu... select 'edit avatar'
