When I still lived in the UK but was dating Tom, we planned a visit for me and the kids to come to Ohio and visit him and see a bit of the USA. I only had one dog at the time, Coco, my shih-tzu poodle mix. So I found a lady who would board/kennel her for me and was highly recommended. But I still wanted to do a visit and check things out.

She answered the door with these two beautiful dogs, and one was the size of a small English bully. I'll be honest, I had no interest in bulldogs at the time and I truly didn't recognise the breeds she had. But I was quite taken with this one dog who was a beautiful almost chocolate colour brindle. So I was petting her and asked what breed she was and she told me French Bulldog. I went home that day and told Tom that I'd found the dog that I thought he would love - a french bulldog!!! Then I forgot all about it and Coco ended up staying with my Ex-husbands sister who doted on Coco. So it worked out better in the end!

I still remember the size and build of this French Bulldog. Let me just say that there is a HUGE difference to the frenchies over here to the frenchies over in England. If this woman was telling me the truth ... well lets just say that her dog was built like a "brick $hit house" ... to coin a northern english phrase!!
