a810_1.jpgSo here's the story. When we got Ollie as a puppy I had a beautiful bed frame with drawers under it, so it was WAY off the groud. I'm 5'1" and I needed a step stool to get into bed! Ollie in teh first week of having him decided he wanted to try flying a few times and launched himself off the bed at 3.5 months old! So out went the bed frame and the mattress went on the floor that night! LOL He's now 10 months old so we deceided to get a new bed frame. Well he still likes to JUMP off the bed which of course makes me nervous because he broke his ebow going down the staris. Mommy does not need another heart attack like that. So I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and got the animal planet pet stairs. Well he wanted to use them but kept falling off them and he was uneasy on them. I took those back and I have ordered a carpeted hanf crafted wood and carpet pet ramp off ebay. It's 17 inches across and 4 feet long. Should be an easy way for him to get on and off the bed.

Does anyone have any luck with other stairs or ramps for thier dogs to get on the bed? Am I the only crazy one that lets her baby sleep with her? He's such a cuddle bug. He snuggles right up next to me all night.

Seems like he would use them to get up there, but would still jump off. Ours sleep in their crates at night, but my wife will let Hazel up on the bed some mornings, before she gets up, but doesn't let her jump off. Our bed is pretty high too.

My bed is pretty high up but I do not have stairs/ramp. Jax does sleep in the bed with us every night (and he loves to cuddle!) but we just lift him on/off. He has rolled off the edge a couple times while sleeping and thank god he never hurt himself. If he wants off he usually just goes to the edge and will sit there and wait for someone take him off.

These are the stairs we ordered off amazon. Reasonable priced, super easy to put together and very sturdy! We have a high bed so we definitely needed these, otherwise I was constantly having to lift Marge into bed. She would jump down on her own but wouldn't jump up, she would sit on the floor and cry to get air lifted.. She loves these and goes up and down with ease. I introduced her slowly by placing treats up the steps up on the bed so she had to step on them, now she is a pro!

Our beds aren't that high and both dogs can jump up and down easily. That said, since having allergy tests done I don't let the cat or Ruggles in the bedroom, Buster sneaks in once in a while but he sheds 1/100th of what Ruggles sheds!

We need to get something for Bella. She didn't like the stairs we purchased about six months ago and returned. Does the ramp work better?

Ramp works great. I had to put a box under the end so it's not as steep a climb. He jumps on the box and walks up to bed. He loves it and no more jumping down. Great purchase

I got the stairs from BB&B. The puppies use them fine but Gidget does not.
