Ringer was rescued by a Good Samaritan from a life in a puppy mill. He has spent his whole life crated with little social interaction. Now, Ringer has been shown what life can be like as a beloved pet, and he is looking for a forever home that can shower him with love.
Ringer is obviously crate-trained, but deserves an active home after his boring years in a crate. He currently gets along with all the resident dogs in his foster home. He’s done great with the neighborhood kids that he meets. He can live in either a house or an apartment, but a fenced yard would be preferred because Ringer is so excited about his freedom that he runs and doesn't think about where he is going. Leashed walks are mandatory if there is not a secure yard for Ringer to romp around in.
Ringer has no major medical concerns, but does take some medication to help with his patchy skin that is probably the result of some nervous crate-rubbing. He has no known temperament issues. As a Frenchie experiencing the world of being a pet and not a breeder dog for the first time, anything is a toy to Ringer and, if there are none around, he will play with just a blade of grass. He loves to help his foster mom in the yard, pulling weeds out of her hand just for fun. He is very curious and will get into things, so his new owner needs to be mindful of what’s accessible to him. Ringer would do fine in a home in a crate during the day while his owner works, as long as there’s mid-day potty break. However, it would be ideal for someone to be home with him so he can catch up on all the years of attention he’s missed. Though he's five years old, he has the mischievous streak of a pup--applicants should be aware that they must be on their toes around Ringer!
