I am about to head to Bed Bath and Beyond for some Animal Planet Pet Stairs. Ollie jumped down off the bed yesterday onto the hard wood floors and went spread eagle slid to the door, got up shook off and walked on his way. Scared me to death. No more. I'm getting stairs tonight. Anyone have experience with pet stairs for beds or couches? I taught Ollie to walk stairs again after his injury so I'm pretty sure I can get him to use them. Fingers crossed.

A friend gave me some that Mack used to get up on the couch (his spine was fusing). He used them a couple of times to get up but never to get down, he was always in too much of a hurry to bark at the deer or whatever. After a couple of months we gave them to the Humane Society for their yard sale. Until the day he died Mack could jump up on the couch or a recliner on his own. He got back farther so he had more of a run at it and crouched lower and got a push off his front legs to help his weakened back legs. Mack was an English Bulldog.

I hope Ollie agrees to use the stairs both up and down!

Me too. I don't like him doing the SUPERMAN off the bed onto the hard floor and going spread eagle on the floor. Not my cup of tea.

I actually just bought some for my French Bulldog and Frenchton... they came in the mail today and I put them by the bed. So far, they have no interest in them. I bought them because I'm tired of picking them up to get them into bed especially in the middle of the night.

I have stairs out of the back door so I know they know how to use them. I think it may just take some time since they aren't use to seeing them there.

Good luck!! I'm curious how it goes for you because I need some tips!

I'd work with one at a time and use treats to get them to go up and down the stairs. As soon as one of them goes up and down the other will follow!

I have a feeling he might use them to go up, but I bet he won't use them to go down. Might have to us area rugs for him to jump down on.

Aww, poor Ollie! I'm always afraid when Leo, and now Molly try to jump off the bed. I'm super paranoid about their backs! :( But Ollie should get the hang of the stairs for the bed in no time! :) We had a set of stairs for our Boxer, but I don't recall where I got them from. They were carpeted and pretty bulky and heavy. There are better ones out now.

I had thought about getting stairs for our bed because it is pretty high and I was scared that Jax would try jumping off. He has rolled off a couple times during the night while sleeping and never got hurt (thank god). I decided against the stairs because I didn't want him deciding in the middle of the night to get down and then roam around the bedroom chewing on things. Usually what he does when he wants down is to go to the foot of the bed and give a little whine.

I just bought these over the weekend. Gidget hasn't used them and doesn't seem interested. The puppies don't have a clue, even to get on the bed. But I am hoping that they will become accustomed to them as they get used to them.

Marge uses her stairs we bought off amazon every single time she gets on the bed. I introduced her to them slowly with treats on the steps leading up to the bed so she new it was safe. She loves them now! But she doesn't use them to jump down, only to go up.

I wish I could find some stops that were easily collapsible for storing!
