Dijon is a ball of energy in his stocky little body! He is content to run around the backyard or go for an evening walk with his people. Just when you think it is time to sit and relax for the day, he is known to start running around doing Frenchie zoomies. He is very active compared to many others and full energy so people should be aware that he is certainly not a lap dog. Dijon loves his antlers and marrow bones!
Dijon was evaluated around children recently at an event, and it was determined that he does well with children above the age of 10. He currently lives with two foster fur siblings, but he has been known to snap at the flip of a hat and attack out of no where. For this reason it is recommended that intros be taken extremely slowly, and dogs be his size or bigger. Dijon has also been nipping people that he has just recently met. He has not broken the skin, and his foster mom is working to tame this issue. Applicants should be prepared to immediately enroll him in a training class or hire a trainer to work with him on these very undesirable behaviors. He's a young dog, so it's very possible to retrain him out of his naughty ways, but applicants should be prepared for a commitment of time and energy.
Dijon is housebroken but will have occasional accidents when not on a regular schedule. He was used to pottying inside on rainy days, but his foster mom has been breaking this habit and making him go outside to potty when the weather is bad. Dijon is crate trained, but will chew on anything that is left in his crate with him even if it is a bed or a mat.
