Hedy is a healthy eight-year-old lady with no health issues! One vet indicated she may have a slight heart murmur, but a second opinion did not show any indication of such. She has previously been treated for allergies, but has not had any allergies surface in her foster home. Hedy is fed a high quality diet which likely has helped keep any allergy tendencies at bay.
Hedy gets along with kids and dogs! She lived comfortably with a three-year-old in her former home and didn’t mind the tugging and pulling that little children demonstrate their love with! Hedy also loves dogs! She has lived with mellow Labradors in both her former and current foster home. Hedy is a sweet gentle soul who is drawn to similar type dogs. A hyper dog would not be a good fit for Hedy as she is a lady and prefers to stay away from such things as romping and zooming. In general Hedy is more submissive, unless she is being bullied by a high energy dog who tries to take her toys, in which case she will try to keep her toy. She will willingly surrender toys to calm, lower energy dogs, and her humans.
She always wants to please the humans and looks to you for approval to make sure she’s being good. Hedy is happy, calm, sweet, reliable, and obedient! Her activity level is low, unless you have a ball! Hedy is one of the very rare fetching Frenchies! She enjoys a stroll around the neighborhood, but it’s clear she was rarely walked in her prior home as she is still learning the art of the walk. Right now she is reactive toward other dogs, bikes, etc and it is difficult to break her focus. Since being in foster care, Hedy has been walked almost daily to help train her. However, as she is still learning, she will need to be walked by a strong leader, and her forever home will need to understand that Hedy will need training and greater socialization to make her more comfortable in public. It should not be a child's chore to walk Hedy.
