Hi all, I am desperate for some advice/experience! My Frenchie, Lito, has been showing signs of pain for over a month. Crying, shaking, screaming, ears back. Possibly the weirdest thing he is doing is getting into a downward dog position and staying like that for a long time. We went to the neurologist and she thinks he has IVDD (slipped disc in his neck) or possibly meningitis? Does anyone have any experience with either of these? Or has your Frenchie done this downward dog thing? The Dr said we can't diagnose/treat Lito unless we do an MRI for $4,000!!! Unfortunately that's just not an option for us. PLEASE reach out if you can help us at all. Thank you!

i have just got into pet homeopathy. My Otis had a pain in his leg last week, we got Xrays and discovered he had hemivertibrae. The vet terrified me and told me he needed MRI and surgery. Not an option so after research discovered hemivertabrae is so common and in most cases it is never a problem. I also learnt about the tail pocket which was dirty. i clean it every day, now i know it is there as that had caused him discomfort. I gave him homeopathic remedies for nerve and joint pain. He is now back to normal 😀 🙏 Please look at homepathy, worth a try. Plus lots of Vitamin C, it is a great pain releiver and healer. I use the ester C type as it is gentle on the stomach. Good luck.

My creche chappo has this disc pushing into his spine was in hospital for a week his back legs looked paralysed they said they'd do mri which cost 1500 here in ireland and said he couldn't get surgery so he's back home getting some power back into his legs with anti inflammatory drugs and some pain relief hydro therapy and physio if you can't afford the price ask them for the pain relief and anti inflammatories at the moment pain relief is most important and rest aswell a warm bath can help make a deep one and support your little one
Gabapentin is the drug make sure to check with your vet the proper dosage I hope your doggie gets better

Get your baby a ramp. I saw someone created a dog ramp (first picture), that I really liked for $80. I ended up ordering a Bed Wedge pillow on Amazon because it was the same exact measurements and a lot cheaper. When I bought other ramps and stairs, my pups didn't like that they were so narrow, so I'm hoping they like this one.

Crate rest 6-8 weeks, gabapentin for pain, prednisone for inflammation, all vet supervised. Our Trixie was luck to be able to have an MRI and immediate surgery in Dec. She has had one flareup and we are still limiting her movement--leash walk, no jumping. The "down dog" position is probably pain management.
