I feel like this is a weird post, but when my mother comes to visit Goose, my almost 7-month-old Frenchie is attached at the hip with her. It seemed he was also generally on more high alert. He even freaked out when he couldn't sleep in her room. He finally calmed down, but I am nervous about night two!

This is a recent development in her last couple of visits. When she leaves, he is back to normal, but it's like I don't exist. Does anyone else have this experience and any advice on how to handle it in general and the bedtime piece?

Thank you for any thoughts and insights!!

All good… they tend to have favorites and know when they are or aren’t available to them. My niece had a pug that was like this with me… he would stick to me like glue and loose his mind when I walked in the house

OMG! I had a Chihuahua like that! When my friend would come over, it was like I no longer existed. She refused to come to me or even acknowledge my existence. Now, this is a dog that REFUSED to let her feet touch the ground, but I simply didn’t exist when Tammy was around! To be fair, Tammy WAS my pet sitter when I went out of town, so Pepper was pretty attached to her. But it did kinda hurt my feelings…LOL!
