For his 9th birthday in August, Dior only wishes to have a forever home of his very own. Adults and children over 10 please. Cats are OK, but he would prefer not sharing his awesome new forever home with any canine siblings. This would all make Dior very, very happy!
Dior was surrendered by his former family when they felt they could no longer care for him after a new baby arrived. Dior has had an episode of gastrointestinal distress while in foster care. He received veterinary care and the problem has resolved with medication and a change of diet. This has helped him tremendously and is a good indicator that his problem was likely food sensitivity. Dior is now off the medications and eating a commercial brand diet that is readily available. His new home should be willing to keep him on this food. Aside from this, Dior is a healthy, happy boy ready for life with his forever family!
Dior loves kids, but he is a resource guarder and feels that ALL toys are his! Since he could bite if toys are perceived to be taken from him, only families with dog-savvy children 10 and up will be considered. We believe Dior’s interaction with other dogs was limited prior to foster care. He prefers to be the only child, but he doesn’t seem to mind the cat in his foster home.
Dior is housebroken, and his foster mom tells us that crate training has been going very well. Dior believes that all toys are great and he wants them all! He is good at entertaining himself, but also loves to be petted and get all the attention he can get. He loves to eat and may have been a bit overweight when he arrived in his foster home. His forever family will need to be mindful of his diet.
Dior likes to sunbathe and go for walks. He keeps up very well! He loves to play, but is dominant and often stubborn--he's a bulldog, after all! If Dior is on a walk and doesn't want to go a certain way, he will dig in his heels and insist on his way. But, he’s easy to negotiate with as long as you have a cookie and a few encouraging words!
