***** Eggie has a bite history *****
Eggie has zoomed on to the available page here at FBRN and is waiting on his perfect forever home! Could it be you? Read on to find out if Eggie is the pup for you!
Eggie was surrendered to FBRN when he bit the small child in his home. The child was provoking Eggie and a bite requiring medical treatment occurred in response. For this reason, Eggie will not be placed with children. It is important to note that even the most patient of dogs can be pushed beyond their limits when they are being poked and prodded. Young children who move quickly and don't yet understand how to interact with animals should never be left unattended with any dog--and that's a tall order for a busy family. The ASPCA has some great tips for teaching your pup and your child how to behave around one another. It's very easy to be distracted for a moment, so we don't want to appear to be blaming anyone for this incident, or any accident--that's not why we're here! Every family is different, and not every dog is right for every family.
Despite this incident, Eggie is a happy, friendly guy! He is still very much a puppy and can go from zoomies in the yard to watching Dancing with Stars in a blink of an eye! He is a bit submissive and loves every other dog he's met! One of his favorite things to do is walk around the block with his family. He is also a very good guard dog and will bark to alert you to any suspicious noises he hears. Attaboy, Eggie!
Eggie has never been tested around cats. Per FBRN policy, he will not be placed in a home with feline companions. This policy is in place to keep both our pups and our cats safe! Dogs are quite okay, though! Eggie's foster mom thinks he'd do quite nicely with a doggie companion to play with!
Eggie is housebroken and crate trained. He knows how to sit, too! But this puppy still needs some work on his obedience skills. A puppy training class would be just the ticket for this young frog! Obedience classes are a great way to tire out your dog both physically and mentally. And working with your pup can help an owner bond with their new pet.
Would you like an office buddy? So long as your workplace is child-free, Eggie would be a great go-to-work candidate! He loves people and would not mind hanging out with you all day long! If you do work outside the home, that's okay too. Eggie would do find with a mid-day potty break and a nice long walk before or after work.
While, this puppy would prefer a fenced yard to zoom around in, he'd do okay with just about any type of home. Because of his guard dog habits, an apartment might not be ideal, though it just depends on the particular environment.
