I lost my 3 year old male French Bulldog Friday, August 27. I took L'Wood to his vet August 13, 14, 18, 23, & 27. All 5 visits, the doc said he wasn't seeing ANY of the conditions I described and he saw no reason for concern. I asked if I should make an appointment with an emergency specialty clinic. I was told I was making a hypochondriac out of my dog. Bloodwork and temperature remained normal at every visit, yet my consistently 19.6 pound Frenchy dropped down to 15 pounds in 5 days.
Left side weakness the 13th.
Bulging left eye the 14th.
He had to hold his front left paw out to maintain balance beginning the 18th.
Lethargic the 23rd.
Suddenly he started having cluster seizures the 27. One after the other after the other...1 - 2 minutes in duration, and only 3 - 4 minutes apart. Just like the car that is making the noise will not make that noise when the mechanic looks it over. My name is Melaney. I feel stupid and my heart is broken about L'Wood. I was always so careful with him. And, at the end of the day, I couldn't keep him alive.
